Peptidi biomimetici ed Esosomi infusi nel tè: gli amici per la pelle

Biomimetic peptides and tea-infused exosomes: friends for your skin

October 20, 2026

Beauty is a science.

I find it incredible that after thirty years of working in the cosmetics industry, I continue to learn something new every day: an innovative active ingredient, the operating mechanism of a molecule, eco-sustainable packaging, or a new skincare trend. This happens because my work is a passion that doesn't end when I leave the office but continues to stimulate me in everything I do.

There is also another reason: behind every cosmetic formula, there is much more than a simple combination of ingredients; cosmetology is a complex science that evolves very quickly, providing us with new and increasingly effective tools to face time and aging with grace and awareness.

We can say that cosmetology is the science that realizes our dream of beauty, improves self-esteem, and transforms scientific knowledge into our daily beauty routine.

The revolution of cosmetology: from exogenous to endogenous

One of the most exciting aspects of modern cosmetology is the shift in perspective we have witnessed in recent years: we no longer limit ourselves to providing the skin with what it needs, but we study how to help it enhance its own natural abilities.

Traditional cosmetics focused primarily on supplying nutrients (exogenous cosmetics), whereas modern research, of which Teaology is a great supporter, studies molecules capable of stimulating the production of collagen, hyaluronic acid, and other fundamental components for skin beauty from within (endogenous cosmetics).

The goal is not only to give the skin what it needs but to help it maintain the ability to produce it on its own. It is a new perspective on skincare that places the skin and its natural potential at the center.

Peptides and Exosomes: two innovations at the service of skin longevity

The skin is an extraordinary system, capable of renewing itself and naturally maintaining its balance. As time passes, however, some of the processes that contribute to preserving its firmness, elasticity, and radiance tend to slow down. Collagen production decreases, the skin progressively loses tone, and wrinkles and the first visible signs of aging appear.

Among the protagonists of the new generation of anti-aging treatments, we find peptides and exosomes, two different technologies united by a fascinating concept: cellular communication.

Biomimetic peptides: the messengers of beauty

Peptides are short chains of amino acids, the same elements that make up the skin's fundamental proteins, such as collagen and elastin, and act as small messengers that transmit biological signals to cells to stimulate them to produce the substances necessary to keep the skin elastic and firm. For this reason, they are called Biomimetic Peptides: they imitate the function of peptides naturally present in our body.

There are hundreds of types of peptides, all different and classified based on their biological function: there are peptides that reduce the appearance of wrinkles, others that improve skin firmness, smooth the eye contour, or stimulate the production of keratin and therefore the growth of eyelashes and hair.

Exosomes: the new frontier of cellular communication

If peptides can be compared to short messages, exosomes are like small "cars" that transport messages to their destination: tiny vesicles that function as natural systems for transporting information between cells.

Exosomes can contain proteins, lipids, vitamins, and antioxidants that participate in complex cellular communication processes.

What is the difference between peptides and exosomes?

The main difference concerns their way of participating in biological communication.

  • Peptides are targeted messages to activate and stimulate cells to perform a specific action: producing collagen, elastin, keratin, etc.
  • Exosomes are information transport systems that, due to their lipid composition and infinitesimal size, penetrate the skin barrier and fuse with the cell, releasing their load of active ingredients directly inside.

Two complementary approaches to skin longevity

The former are appreciated for their targeted cosmetic action on the visible signs of aging.

The latter open new perspectives in research on ingredients and cellular communication within the scope of endogenous cosmetology.

Cosmetics is a booming sector dominated by innovation and the most advanced research: we have great prospects for understanding the mechanisms of the skin microbiota even better, and we continue to study to create products that are increasingly effective, safe for the skin, and capable of ensuring immediate and long-term benefits.
